Move your family of four overseas in just one 45x45x72 in pallet. Those dimensions look like this...
You're moving to a cold, mountainous European country where none of your electronics work. You can bring a converter if you want, but most electronics burn out after about a year when used with a converter. Jeans are expensive over there, as are pots and pans. You won't be buying a car, so you'll be walking and using public transportation to go pretty much everywhere. You don't yet know where you'll be living exactly, but probably a two (maybe three) bedroom apartment. (Have you ever watched House Hunters International????) You want to make it feel like home to counter the culture shock you'll experience, while also making it an inviting place for the nationals to visit (i.e. don't just look like some rich American).
You will get to bring a few suitcases with you when you actually fly over there. And you'll get one closet in your parent's house to store things you want to keep.
So, what would YOU bring? What are the most important things in your life that you would take with you to meet these requirements?
We'll update you later on OUR pallet and what we will choose to bring.
