We've compiled some of the videos we have shot over the past few years to help you get a glimpse into our lives, ministry, and the life of the church.

Catalina did a presentation for a young Awanas group and answered some of their questions about Romania. |
We are talking about launching a catechism course for the youth in our church, as outside of our youth group (which is for younger children), we don't have a way to train and incorporate youth into the church. I did a dry-run of a short catechism session with Elin (4) and Atticus (2) to show what it might look like - and to prove that if it can be done with two toddlers, surely we can do it with kids with double digits.

We put this video together for Christ Presbyterian Church. They asked us to briefly share about our role here as well as how they could best pray for our family. |
We were blessed to have Denton baptized at our church here in Codlea, and knew enough Romanian that we were able to have the service in Romanian. If you don't know Romanian, you can find the translation for most of the service in the file below. If you're unfamiliar with infant baptism, you can also read about our view on it here. ![]()

This Easter we did our second annual enactment of Holy Week. This video is from one of our favorite parts of the week - where Derek gets to "act" like a donkey. The kids really enjoy it and it helps to draw them into the excitement that leads up to Easter. |
I had the opportunity to give my testimony to the church. You can get a very small glimpse into my journey through Christianity. |

Westminster Presbyterian asked us to shoot a video for them to share at their mission's conference. They asked how we do ministry with kids, as it's often easy to sacrifice one for the other. We briefly explain our philosophy here. |
Catalina put together a video for our sending Church, Restoration Presbyterian. The theme of the women's breakfast was "Savoring the Savior." |

While the news is outdated, this is one of our favorite videos ever. It was such an exciting time to announce that we were finally at 100% support and on our way to Romania, and at the same time, announce that our third child was on the way. We had so much fun putting this together. |
This video is probably our Ebenezer stone. In the months prior to this, we lost a baby, our support income stagnated, we were overwhelmed, Catalina developed depression, and things were just rough. We already had a mission's conference booked and Catalina just had no clue what to speak about, because putting on a happy, spiritual face just felt like hypocrisy. So I told her to just tell the truth and be vulnerable. Catalina puts her heart on her sleeve here and through our experiences, explains the Christian life that most of us experience most of the time, during the majority of our life lived aspiring to the mountain top, and not on it. You can find a transcript and some more of Catalina's thoughts here. |

This is a practice run for my speaking opportunity at the 2017 mission's conference at Redeemer Presbyterian in Valdosta. I talk about how we are a city on a hill, but that our job is not to shine a spotlight on the world which blinds them, but rather an illuminating light that guides them towards the security of a savior who loves them. |
This is a video of a poem I wrote for our anniversary. While it is a reflection on love, it's also a reflection on God's gifts. I reflect on how a restored world is exciting, but how some of the excitement dissipates as Jesus seems to indicate we won't have marriage in heaven. While our relationships will all be made right and will be better than here and now, in some respects this change of relational status is bittersweet. I like to use poetry as a way to reflect on theological issues and as a way to express myself. You can find more poetry here covering topics like morality, abortion, free will, etc. |

We are so thankful that our journey to Romania allowed us to meet so many awesome Christians and learn so much about parenting. Through the wisdom of many of the saints, we began training our children very early in spiritual disciplines. The above videos are a small glimpse into what that looks like. You can read a little more about that here as well.
