Performed by Ryan Churchward:
Livin in the shadow of a reformation great
Finding out the truth that it's faith that satiates
But then one comes along threatnin to overturn God's grace
Humanity promoted but nobody it will save
What was I dto do when someone opposed the truth
Let this evil win and the reformation lose?
And then it was revealed as God so clearly showed it
Enjoy what he has given - stop and smell the TULIPs!
Total in its nature but not utter in its course
Depravity in nature is an unrelenting force
For it affects the heart and the heart affects the will
Everything is tainted. No work of me is pure.
So what am I to say? Where am I to go?
To purify my being, my enervated soul?
All man's hope is lost, we're powerless in all
Only infinite grace could save us and pick us up where we fall
We're down on our faces, we're set out of place
Who is going to be saved since falling from Grace?
But God in his wonderful redemptive plan
Has chosen to save some by his merciful hand.
But who's deserving of this grace, who deserves to be saved?
For we've already concluded that all man is depraved.
But God in his goodness and desire for fame
Chose some by his power to bring praise to his name.
But for those God has chosen he must pay the price
To bring his sons to glory he must sacrifice
But for infinite sin there is infinite cost
The price must be paid or all will be lost
But for all he bought salvation exists
So not all are bought or all'd be on the list
For God only purchased those he gloried in
A specific love for those found in him.
If some then are bought they are ransomed from sin
Their price has been paid, they've a new life to begin.
For the priest who has sacrificed all for them
Sits on high in power performing intercession.
He who has paid has been promised all he asks
How could it be denied by such trivial flasks?
Grace changes nature, nature changes what we do
We realize what we're given, we will not turn from truth
For those God has chosen He's paid and guaranteed
To be conformed to Christ, to live with God one day
But if I once fell from grace why can't I fall again?
I'll tell you now my friend in one word, redemption.
Unlike A and E in the Garden of Eden
We fully know God's love, He died to make us friends
And since we have been bought with an infinite price
Forever we're redeemed and have our life in Christ
