Pray for
Romania!
"We believe in the power of prayer."

For some reason in our culture, it seems that we make such statements as if it's novel or unique. But that's weird. Because if we ever read something like that in the Bible it would seem out of place; of course the people in the Bible "believed" in prayer - it was their lifeline! Prayer is one of the ways we commune with God; we remind ourselves of who we are in comparison to Him; we adore Him and thank Him; we repent through prayer; and we go to Him as we might go to our father to discuss our needs and desires.
To make a statement emphasizing that we believe in the power of prayer seems out of place in the Christian walk; it seems akin to a husband saying he believes in the power of talking with his wife. It seems so painfully obvious that it need not even be said. Yet in our culture, it does need to be said. Like the majority of our culture, we are guilty of often using prayer as a talisman - "I'll pray for you" can often mean nothing more than "oh, I'm sorry that's happening." We forget to pray, or we just think positive thoughts, or we say it because we don't know what else to say. And oftentimes we think of prayer as more of a duty than a time to spend with our God. We don't truly believe that God hears or answers our prayers. And we're often sick and tired of the social media memes asking you to click "Like" in prayerful support of some wishy-washy slogan promising God's blessings on you for "sharing." So in our culture, that statement is often very necessary. And we actually, truly believe in the power of prayer. It is the baseline of our ministry, and it is the single most important way you can participate in our ministry in Romania.

So with that thought, we need people to pray for us. We need people who will commit to pray for us. And just like we need 100% of our financial support to go to Romania, we need 100% of our prayer support. We are committed to garnering 1,000 people to pray for us daily for the first 40 days of us being in Romania. To encourage ourselves to move out into the community and make Romania our home rather than seclude ourselves in the comfort of our English-speaking family, we have a goal to meet 40 new people in those 40 days. We will send those names, along with our prayer requests, to our prayer partners. We intend to be bathed in prayer to begin our ministry, and we need you to do that for us!
Please click the link below to sign up to be our "1,000 / 40 for 40" group of prayers. After the end of those 40 days, we hope you'll continue to pray for us and stay involved, but at that time your commitment will be complete. This email list will not begin until we get to Romania.
Join the 1,000 / 40 for 40 Prayer Group

If you also want to stay involved with us and pray for us as we are support-raising, then please subscribe to our mailing list. We send out a monthly update to let you know what's going on with us and updated prayer requests. And you can always be praying for us in the following ways.
  • For the Romanian people - that they would be open to the message of the Gospel and that the Lord would begin stirring hearts to raise up leadership in the country.
  • For God's ministry in Romania - that He would use us for His purposes to build up His Kingdom.
  • For the Ebbers - currently our MTW team consists of just one other family who have been in Romania for 8 years. They've been praying for God to send them new team members, so we're eager to get over there to help them. Pray for them in this time of waiting and transition.
  • For our children - that the Lord would be preparing their sweet little hearts to learn about serving Him and others in another country. Pray that God would send great friends for them both in Romania and America as they grow up as "third culture kids."
  • For us - that we would constantly grow closer to the Lord and each other as we move forward in this journey. Pray for our marriage to be strengthened through this long, difficult process and that we would be able to rest in God's peace and love, knowing that He's going before us to prepare the way. Help us not to lean on ourselves, our work, our strength, our abilities, but to lean wholly on God for everything we need. Pray for our hearts to be softened to the needs of others, especially those in Romania. Pray that we would be strengthened and encouraged as walk forward toward Romania.

Thank you for interceding for us before the Lord! Your prayers mean so much to us!

GIVE

"Please send them on their way in a manner that honors God. It was for the sake of the Name that they went out, receiving no help from the pagans. We ought therefore to show hospitality to such people so that we may work together for the truth."
- 3John 6-8

We are praying for the Lord to raise up others who want to work together with us for the truth of the Gospel by providing for our financial ministry needs .
